By Niyi Tabiti,

Kenneth Okonkwo andyIt was a grand celebration of life for late jurist, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa when the court held a session in his honour last week. The session was presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mariam Aloma Mukhtar with other Nigeria supreme court judges in attendance.

The court room was filled with lawyers, judges from other courts and Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN). Niyitabiti.net also saw former governors of Anambra, Mr.Peter Obi and former Rivers state governor,Dr. Peter Odili in attendance.

It was a solemn mood as the Bar and the Bench extolled the virtues of late Justice Oputa and why he would remain one of the most notable judges that Nigeria has produced, just the way Lord Denning is still relevant in England.

Who changed the mood afterwards? It was Kenneth Okonkwo, the nollywood actor who was called to the Nigerian Bar not quite long.Andy as he is popular known entered the court and many people who never knew that he is a lawyer were shocked. Save for press photographers and videographers, people checked well to see that the supreme court has not turned into another movie set.

He exchanged pleasantries people and some of his collegues also used the occasion to take photographs with him.
